A 2.2 m seated Buddha in meditation, carved from a single block of dolomite marble around the 3rd or 4th century AD. It sits between the Abhayagiri stupa and Kuttam Pokuna, and its expression seems to change as you walk around it.

Tips

Shoes off near the statue and never pose with your back to it. Walk slowly from one side to the other to see the expression change.
