Experience Sri Lanka ("we", "us") operates the VisitLanka platform, which connects travellers with verified local partners across all 26 districts of Sri Lanka. Information we collect - Account details you provide when you register: your name, email address, and password (kept only as a secure hash). - Enquiry and trip information you submit when you contact a partner or build a trip, including your travel dates, party size, and the content of your messages. - Partner onboarding details, including business information and identity verification documents, for accounts registered as partners. - Technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you view, collected automatically to keep the service secure and reliable. How we use your information - To create and manage your account and to authenticate you when you sign in. - To deliver your enquiries to the partner you chose to contact and to let them respond to you. - To operate, maintain, and improve the platform, including measuring partner response times and content performance. - To send service messages about your account, enquiries, and trips. Any marketing email is opt-in and can be unsubscribed from at any time. - To comply with legal obligations and to enforce our Terms of Service. Sharing We share the content of an enquiry or trip request with the partner you chose to contact. We rely on trusted service providers for hosting, database, email delivery, analytics, and abuse prevention; they may process data only on our instructions. We do not sell your personal information. Data retention We keep account and enquiry data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution needs, after which we delete or anonymise it. Your choices You can review and update most account information from your account settings.
