Sri Pathirakali Amman Temple is a Hindu temple to the goddess Kali on Konesar Road, just before the entrance to Swami Rock. Its history goes back to the Chola period, when Rajendra Chola I expanded it, and today it is known for its fully painted tower and ceilings. It is busier with local worshippers than Koneswaram.
