Railway viaduct at Demodara, between Ella and Demodara stations, finished in 1919. Nine arches of stone, brick and cement carry the Badulla line 24 m above a jungle valley for 91 m, between two tunnels. It's about a 30-minute walk from Ella's main strip through tea and forest.

Free to visit. Ask your guesthouse for train times. Stand on the tunnel side for the classic shot. Walking on the railway is illegal, so watch from the paths or cafe terraces.
